High Five Friday #8 And FLOW

What a wonderful week it has been! The weather, the moments, and just life in general – this week has been amazing I think everything seems better when you can wear summer dresses though, don’t you? For this entire week I have either worn shorts and a tank top or a summer dress!

At one point in time the temperature here in London reached 30 degrees Celsius! It was incredible! But kind of scary at the same time; I mean, it is only mid-March!

Today, we have a very exciting post  Obviously, High Five Friday comes with all sorts of excitement, but I also have a vlog and a special announcement!

At the beginning of the week I challenged all of us to step outside of our comfort zones and try something different this week! So, I can’t wait to hear what everyone did to challenge themselves! Each and every one of you amaze me on a daily basis, but when High Five Friday comes around I am always even more impressed when I hear more about what you have achieved over the week! Today, I am giving myself a high five for trying Zumba this week which was definitely something new and a challenge to me! You can read more about my first Zumba experience here, but I also want to explain in this post as to why I consider this to be a high five for myself

Becoming Body Confident
Zumba incorporates many different movements. I enjoyed Zumba for an entire 60 minutes and for the full 60 minutes I was moving my body in ways that I have never moved before. Some of the moves seemed quite belly dancer-like, but I went with it! While moving in such ways, I realized how much I have changed over the past few years and how much body confidence I have gained. A few years ago, when I was struggling with my ED, I would have never moved like that. I would have felt awkward, as if I was being judged the entire time, etc. I just know it would not have been a good experience at all. However, when I tried Zumba this week I didn’t care. I didn’t care if I wasn’t doing the moves correctly. I didn’t care if someone was watching me and thinking “What on Earth is that girl thinking?”

It was a freeing experience And I enjoyed it. It was also so amazing to notice that I have made such positive changes with my body confidence and self esteem. I think I was able to get to this point, where I don’t care what people think of me, by many different factors, but the main factors that come to mind are positive self talk and going to school at Brescia.

Positive Self Talk
I talk to myself a lot and I am not afraid to admit it! Positive self talk, thinking, and actions are essential for an improved self confidence!

Brescia
Going to an all girls university has created my self confidence to sky rocket. Brescia has empowered me like nothing else and taught me that I am capable of anything I set my mind to.
