Mustardy Tarragon Paprika Chicken

Good Sunday morning darlings! :D

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! The last day of relaxation for us here in Canada, but all you lucky souls in the States get the luxury of one more day ;)
I guess I shouldn’t complain. We got our long weekend last week ;) and I don’t have a job… so I usually don’t know what day of the week it is anyways…

Hehe :D

But, it’s not all fun and games around here! So, don’t think I’m slacking ;)

I had a busy week with my online biochemistry course as I had to complete my first out of six quizzes (which I passed by the way) and I have also been working with my Dad at his jewellery store!

I’ve also been taking care of my girl <3

Thank you for all of your support and well wishes yesterday. It was much appreciated and provided me with comfort <3

Other than that, I’ve been in the kitchen a lot :) so I’ve been a happy girl cooking up a storm! I have quite a few recipes to share with all of you, so I thought I might as well start spreading the recipe love today! ;)

Shall we?

Last night, my Dad requested that I grilled chicken breasts :) How could I turn that request down!? So, I made one of my favourite marinades (recipe below) and grilled chicken breasts for dinner just as requested ;)

Aren’t I the best daughter ever? ;)

Mustardy Tarragon Paprika Chicken Marinade

6 skinless boneless chicken breasts
1 tsp tarragon leaves
2 tsp paprika
1 tsp pepper
4 TBSP dijon mustard (creamy or whole grain – which ever you prefer!)
1/4 cup red wine

This marinade smells amazing by the way.

I let my chicken marinade for the entire afternoon, but that’s not necessary if you don’t have the time!

I’ve used this marinade for chicken several times and it’s always been a hit! The combination of flavours is fantastic! Let me know if you give it a try the next time you fire up the grill ;)

yummy! i don’t cook meat a whole lot so there’s not a whole lot of marinading that goes on over here :) i may be taking a rest day today since the gym is closed and i went pretty hardcore yesterday. i maaaay be taking a long walk with a friend if she’s available. yay for sundays! :)

This looks wonderful! I am totally going to try it with tempeh – I bet the mustard and wine flavors would be perfect. If only I had a grill! Maybe I’ll add some liquid smoke…

Yum that looks so good!! I’ve actually never grilled anything haha…that’s always been left to the boys ;). But the grill will be heated up today for our cookout, can’t wait! Today is my rest day. Which is a good thing because I worked really hard in spinning yesterday. Hope you have a great Sunday love!

Oh yummy! I have been on a chicken kick lately especially on the grill! I just bought a mini grill for my apartment balcony that was on sale yesterday. I will have to bookmark this recipe. Thanks lovely!!!

I’m not a huge meat eater- but this marinade sounds lovely. I’d bet it would be great marinading cauliflower, or other veg before roasting it-as well as on meat:), ill have to try.
I marinated (soaked?)chickpeas in soy and balsamic for like half an hour just yesterday- I LOVE crunchy baked chickpeas.

I never got a chance to comment to say how sorry I was to hear about your gorgeous pup yesterday. She’s in my thoughts and I really hope she isn’t in pain and gets stronger.

PS. You are totally right about your program! The reason it wasn’t in my diary is because I had written down that it expired at the end of last week, but obviously forgot to correct myself after the time you took off in Barbados!!! Argh. So silly of me! I’m not going to have time to do it tomorrow (I work 11am-9.30pm!) so can you wait til Tuesday or Wednesday?? You can just do a seventh week on your existing program – probably wouldn’t hurt anyway considering you took some time off. Sorry love xo

Oh my goodness that chicken looks amazing! I love simple recipes where you just throw stuff together! Didn’t grill, but had a wonderful smoothie for lunch ;)

Yum! So this is the marinade you are talking about in your email :) It looks fantastic! I would love to try it on Salmon! I went for a run today wish was fantastic, but tomorrow is my rest day, which I am looking forward too :)

ooh this sounds SO good! I’m a huge fan of paprika and of mustard, never tried tarragon before though! And I love the addition of red wine – I bet that makes a really unique flavor combo with the paprika! I grilled myself some morrocan-spice tilapia tonight but I totally eat chicken like four times a week so I’m sure I’ll get to try out this marinade soon! :-D

Marinated chicken always tastes good. Nothing like the taste of the spices that has gone deep into the meat :-)
