I have been in Boston since Wednesday evening, but today, Friday, the Healthy Living Summit has finally begun!
I can't even begin to describe the amount of excitement I felt today. I finally met so many girls that I consider to be my best friends and even sisters today! It was surreal and tear jerking. I let out a few screams which turned a few heads and I may be losing my voice, but it's all so worth it!
My day started out with a workout in the park!
Lindsay, Chelsea, and I woke up bright and early to meet up with other bloggers attending HLS for a conditioning class held at one of Boston's outdoor workout centres. It was a lot of fun! I've been doing more outdoor workouts lately, but this was my first outdoor workout that I've done with a group.
The workout was a full body workout as it consisted of lower and upper body exercises. We performed bodyweight exercises as well as exercises using resistance bands. It was a lot of fun and I actually even learned a few new exercises!
After the workout was over and we were sweaty, we headed back to the hotel to clean up and get ready for the day!
That's when the day got really good
Remember how excited I was about my first Whole Foods experience on Wednesday night? Well, today I was just as excited because I had my very first Whole Foods lunch!
So many bloggers rave about the salad bar at Whole Foods and today I finally understand why they rave so much about it! It's undescribable. It's amazing. It's… Whole Foods <3
I was not messing around when I made my salad today. I took the big green bowl and filled it with raw kale, romaine, steamed green beans, shredded purple cabbage, roasted eggplant, roasted red onions, roasted garlic cloves, roasted curried cauliflower, and one grilled chicken breast.
The flavour was unreal. Chelsea and I already have plans to go back to Whole Foods for lunch on Sunday before we leave!
The rest of my day consisted of shopping, spending money at Lululemon like it's going out of style, meeting my best blogging friends for the first time, making new blogging friends, eating the best mussels I've ever tasted, and mingling at the cocktail party with amazing and truly inspiring ladies!
Dinner took place at Figs; a casual bistro that I highly recommend to anyone in the Boston area!
The service was incredible, the staff was extremely accomodating, and the food was to die for!
I have been craving muscles all week, so I ordered their P.E.I. mussels which were served in a roasted tomato broth with cracked black olives, spicy peppers, and croutons.
The roasted tomato broth couldn't have been any better. It was perfect. Spicy, but not too spicy and incredibly flavourful. After I was done my mussels, I enjoyed the broth like a soup – something I never do.
The night ended with a bang at the cocktail party! It was so much fun and I talked so much that I don't think I'll have much of a voice tomorrow, but, like I said, it's totally worth it!
I am heading to bed now, though! Today was a long day and tomorrow will be much the same! But, I'm looking forward to every moment!
Night y'all
(I think I'm developing an American accent?)
Love always,
Meg
xoxo
