What does this picture say to you?
To many of you, this picture may just seem like a picture of my side profile, but it is so much more than that.
My Mom took this picture when I wasn't paying attention. She noticed that I was totally in my element at this exact moment and felt as though she needed to capture it.
The picture was taken after I finished my seafood feast. At this very moment I was happy; I couldn't be happier, in fact. I was with my parents enjoying some of my favourite foods – two of my very favourite things to do.
I wanted to give a shout out to my lovely friend, Heather, who began the j'adore la vie project. Ever since she announced her idea about this remarkable project, I have been more aware of myself, my surroundings, and the very moment I'm in.
Life is so much more meaningful and rich when we live in the moment.
I hope all of you can join Heather and show her your support in her j'adore la vie project. I'm sure all of us will make positive growth when living in the moment, loving and appreciating the beauty of life itself, and allowing our hearts to fill with joy even from the most simplistic things!
Do you struggle to live in the moment or is it something that comes easy to you?
What was your most recent j'adore la vie moment?
Love,
Meg

Great post Meg! I love Heather’s J’adore la vie project! I think it is so important to live in the moment and cherish every minute of every day!!! I’ve been trying more and more to live in the moment because it doesn’t come easy to me but I know the more I work at it the easier it will come!
it may be weird but “j’adore la vie” when I’m under my shower after a run … feeling the water on my skin is just sooooo relaxing , my whole body is “free” … i know … weird ^^… it’s just a moment that I love (and it means so much more to me : in my relationship with my body)
AHHHH Meg! Thank you so much. I am in tears. This project is HUGE, long-time dream of mine and it means the WORLD to me that you support it. It’s still in the very, very early stages but to see you inspired by the message is seriously everything to me. I love you so so so much, sis!!!
Meg, you are SUCH a gem for sharing Heather’s movement and finding such inspiration in it! I too have found myself appreciating #jadorelavie moments ever since Heather started talking up this project and I can’t wait to see what more she does with it. I love seeing other people in their elements and I can tell from the photo above (and the fact that seafood was even present) that you were experiencing major happiness and bliss with your parents in Niagara Falls. <3
Living in the moment is something I am constantly working on. It is very hard for me! I am such a planner and am always thinking about that darn to-do list. Thank you for the reminder love!
Love this! <3 I completely agree. Living in the moment is key
You are so lovely, I enjoyed the sweet simplicity of this post.
You look so happy love!
I often struggle with living in the moment. I am often busy wondering what the future will hold. Kind of a waste of time.
Love this so much! J’adore la vie is the best idea. I always have trouble remembering to stay in the moment. Thanks for the great post!! I read Heather’s blog and just found yours! Love it!
Oh wow… good question! This was an amazing weekend for me, so I have too many j’adore la vie moments to name just one! I would have to say a great one would be this morning at church when my students came special to perform for today’s service. The fact that they took time out of their busy lives because I asked them to made me feel so wonderful… it reminded me why I love my job!
Your mom took a beautiful photograph, by the way! Of course, she did have a beautiful subject.
I definitely do struggle to live in the moment and I am often thinking about both the past and the future. But, I am working on it!
This is a wonderful post, Meg! I love Heather’s idea. I think that in today’s world of technology, social media, and constant go-go-go mentality, we forget to savor the moments were are in. This past weekend, my husband and I took an overnight trip to Atlanta – just the two of us….something we had not done in 2 years. On Sunday morning, we lounged in the hotel’s king size bed, just talking to each other. This is in stark contrast to most Sunday mornings at home, where we watch t.v., check Facebook, tweet, etc.
I LOVE this! I totally live in the moment (for the most part) <–and I notice it comes much easier when I am doing things I love & am passionate about.
I struggle to live in the moment all the time! It seems to get worse as I get older… more and more “life” things that get in the way!
