Today was the first day in a week that I was able to get back into the gym and train with my trainer. I have been training alone since last Tuesday due to my trainer catching a flu bug.
Although I am completely capable of training on my own, it's amazing how my trainer is able to push me that extra mile. Or extra rep I should say…
When I train alone, I don't always throw on that extra 10 or 20 lbs. that I could lift. So, it was really nice to train with him again today!
Tuesday's are my chest and triceps day and I was able to surprise myself in more ways than one! This was my workout of the day:
Incline DB Press 1 warm up set of 12 reps followed by 3 sets of 10
Decline Chest Press 4 x 12, 10, 10, 10
Pec Dec 3 x 10, 10, 10 (drop set)
Close Grip Bench Press 3 x 10
Overhead Triceps Extention with EZ Bar 3 x 10
Reverse Grip Cable Bar Pushdown 4 x 10
I was able to increase my weights in both incline and decline presses, which made me happy
I also worked really hard on the last exercise, reverse grip pushdowns, and set a new PR for reps!
It was a great workout and my trainer was proud of how hard I worked
My triceps are so fatigued and my chest is most definitely going to be sore tomorrow!
Tomorrow's a rest day, but I'll be back with an easy peasy recipe for you to try out
Have a great day!
Love,
Meg
Did you workout today?
Do you like training your chest?
Have you ever worked out with a personal trainer? Do you go the extra rep with them?

SO happy to hear your trainer is better and that you got a great session!! <33 I saw you with the weights this weekend, you ROCK!! XOXO
I love working out with my trainer/coach. It's amazing how much further you can go with that extra push by your side
Hello darlin
I got up at my usual time to go stand in line to vote instead of workout haha, but I plan to fit in a yoga video after work to stretch out a bit! I also put together a little "bootcamp" for my crazy three year olds during their gross motor time (i.e. recess), which pretty much introduces them to some simple moves…10 jumping jacks, 10 pushups, 10 sit ups, 10 sec plank, 10 sec walk sit, squat jumps (which are their new favs), 10 tricep dips, etc….they asked me to do it haha. I think I'm rubbing off on them a bit, which cracks me up. They're getting pretty good at it, too!
Congrats on being able to increase ur weights…that is always a great feeling…Man i need to get back into the gym!
Kepp up the great work!
I did chest and tri's at the gym this morning! It's not my favorite workout, but I know it's important to give everything the time it deserves so I don't have muscle imbalances. This would have been the perfect day to have a trainer to push me through it!
just getting back from bodypump and abs workout ! I can't feel my arms but that soooooo good ! ^^
I would love to have a personal trainer, I'm sure I will achieve so much more and faster !!!!
Yay for increasing weights! Love that feeling
You're a ROCK STAR, girl!
You know I'm loving lifting weighs! I'm so glad you posted this. I'm in need of some new workouts! :)
I wrote this post JUST for you
I totally agree with you on this… trainers are great for providing that extra push. I think the fact that your trainer does do this for you just proves that it's a good match for you guys to be working together. I know I had one trainer before that I just didn't feel challenged by nor did I feel they listened to my concerns… that's just not cool. Awesome work on your weight and rep increases that is phenomenal, love PR's! Have a wonderful day my lady!
Congrats Meg! Love your blog! It is quite motivator!
I have never worked with a personal trainer, but I feel like if I did I would definitnely be motivated to push out an extra rep or two!
