David, I Cheated on You

by Meg on November 27, 2012

It's true. I cheated on David.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I payed a visit to Teavana on the weekend.

I'm not going to lie, I loved it. However, David will always have a special place in my heart…

Both company's create unique blends of loose tea; however, DAVIDsTEA is a Canadian-based company while Teavana's first location opened in Atlanta, Georgia.

Quite a few of you seemed to be quite excited when I spoke about Teavana yesterday, as it is easier for some of my US readers to get Teavana products than DAVIDsTEA.

Well, you're in luck! I am overly happy to tell you that I am going to begin reviewing Teavana teas, as well as DAVIDsTEA's, and

Host a Teavana giveaway! :)

Today I will be reviewing three teas in which Teavana provided me to "taste test" and review on my blog. Then you will have a chance to enter the giveaway by doing the following:

1. Subscribe to my blog

2. Like my Facebook Page

3. Follow me on Twitter

4. Tweet about the giveaway while including this link http://adashofmeg.com/2012/11/27/david-i-cheated-on-you/, my Twitter handle, @adashofmeg, and Teavana's Twitter handle, @TEAVANA

For each of the above tasks, please leave a comment in the comment section below this post telling me which tasks you have completed. You can leave a separate comment for each task to receive four different entries into the giveaway!

This giveaway will close Monday December 3rd, 2012 at 12:00 am EST. So, your last day to enter the giveaway is Sunday and the winner will be announced on December 3rd in my Marvelous Monday post! :)

When the winner is announced, I will ask them to contact me via email. They will be able to pick one tea from all of their teas available on their website, so feel free to start browsing ;)
The tea will then be shipped to you in a big tin, so you can enjoy it over and over again! :)

Great way to start the week, huh? ;)

Now, let's get reviewing these delicious teas!

My Morning Mate

My Morning Mate is a mate tea intended to be used to "kick start your day" in place of a cup of coffee. The ingredients within this tea are:

Mate tea, red rooibos tea, black tea, cocoa kernels, carob bits, citrus peels, chocolate pieces, almond, pistachio nuts, coriander, cactus blossoms, hazelnut croquant, sunflower petals, flavoring (chocolate, hazelnut, cream, coffee, caramel, almond, cinnamon, macadamia croquant, pepper, safflower petals, cornflower petals.

I was really excited to try this tea, especially when I saw it contained a variety of different nut flavours; however, I was quite disappointed. Despite it's lovely smell, it tasted quite artificial to me, which isn't totally surprising after looking at the ingredient list – there are quite a few different flavourings used.

Overall, it was a chocolatey-tasting black tea with fake nutty tones. I couldn't see myself enjoying a cup of this tea on a regular basis, so I donated the 50 gram bag to my boyfriend. He seems to enjoy it in the morning instead of his regular coffee. So, if you're a coffee person and need that caffeine boost in the morning, maybe this tea is for you!

Jinja Citrus Twist Green Tea

I was able to choose the three teas in which I got to taste test. Without a doubt, I was bound to choose a tea with ginger in it – my absolute favourite!

This tea smells gingery, but has bright citrus tones, as well. It's like a combination of one of my favourite teas from DAVDsTEA, Organic Pu'erh Ginger and something sweet and citrusy! I love it!

The ingredients in this tea are: Green tea, apple pieces, citrus peels, ginger, hibiscus flowers, lemon flavoring, orange juice bits.

You definitely need to enjoy the taste of ginger to like this tea, so if you're like me and ginger is your thing – you'll love this tea just like me! :)

Citrus Lavender Sage Herbal Tea

Since I chose two teas with caffeine already, I decided to go with a herbal caffeine-free tea for my third review.

This tea is wonderful. The smell alone is amazing. It reminds me of something from my childhood, but I cannot put my finger on it. It has a boldly sweet citrus smell and contains the following ingredients: Candied pineapple pieces, (pineapple, sugar), sea buckthorn berries, citrus slices, orange juice bits, flavoring (pineapple, tangerine, orange, grapefruit, lemon), pineapple chips, apple slices, lavender blossoms, sage.

The most prominent flavour is definitely pineapple, but you can also pick out other types of fruit such as orange and apple, too. Even though it is a citrus and fruity tea, it is not tangy like most fruit teas. It's very smooth, which is why I think I like it so much. I hate tangy bitter fruit teas.

I have to say, this is my over all favourite of the three teas! So, if you're looking for an amazing caffeine-free tea, I definitely recommend trying this blend! :)

Now, let the giveaway begin! :)

Have a great day friends and good luck with the giveaway! May the biggest tea enthusiast win ;)

Did you enjoy these tea reviews?

Have you tried any of the teas above?

Love always,

Meg xo

Hahaha I cheated on Davids with Teavana over the weekend too! It was my first experience there. I sampled a chai blend which was WAY too sweet. My Morning Mate & Citrust Lavender sound incredible!

We have a teavana in my home town. My mom bought me my morning mate while I was home last. And I love the citrus sage one. Very unqiue. I have been cheating on david with harney and sons and some tj's candy cane lane recently. It's funny how you feel like you are cheating on companies you are loyal to. Whenever I eat another brand of yogurt besides Chobani, I feel so guilty. Luckily, this is a rare occasion but sometimes fage is on sale, or I am already at TJ's, or I do enjoy Siggi's Icelandic from time to time (much less sugar in the flavored).

Great review by the way!

I love Teavana. One of the best is to use the raspberry riot lemon mate & make it into iced tea. (Not now though). I should order some David's Tea online.
