Now, if winning tea isn't marvelous enough…
Here are some more marvelous things that are happening in my life right now!
Food
I've been eating some pretty tasty things lately!
Quinoa flakes cooked with 1/4 cup egg whites, 1 TBSP cocoa powder, stevia, cinnamon, and water
The next picture goes without saying that I may be on a little bit of a quinoa flake kick…
This lovely, but ugly, combo is quinoa flakes cooked with shredded chicken. I then topped the quinoa and chicken with one whole egg and baked it until cooked. After that, I finished the dish off with a scoop of curry sauce made with tomatoes and peaches that I bought from a local market. Absolutely delicious!
Blended cottage cheese topped with almond butter and homemade banana fro yo!
Salmon and white tuna sashimi!
Movie Nights
I was lucky and had two movie nights with my boyfriend this weekend. The first night we stayed in, enjoyed DAVIDsTEA, and watched Elf – the first Christmas movie I've watched this year!
The second movie we watched this weekend was Skyfall. I wasn't a fan. My mind was wandering for the most part, my butt went numb from the movie theatre seats, and DAVIDsTEA wasn't within arms reach. I much rather have a movie night at home
Workouts
My workouts have been going really well lately. My most recent PR was for single arm DB rows, but I am most impressed with how much I have improved with my squats! I am going lower and heavier than ever before! Squat day was on Saturday and my quads are definitely on fire this morning! It's always the second day after that really gets me…
I've also been really liking my new piece of workout gear – my Under Armour hat! It kind of makes me feel tough
Lie. It totally makes me feel tough!
I hope you all had a marvelous weekend!

I'm with you–I would so rather have movie night at home. That hat is BA girl! Love it, and love you
have a great week!
i love you too baby!!
oooh someone who didn't go crazy over Skyfall!! I was bored during it and kept checking my watch!
Happy Monday!!
Oh that's ME! What a marvelous Monday!
Morning Meg! Love that hat and yes it makes you look like a tough cookie!! Thanks for posting the quinoa recipe- I'm dying to try it- i have a box of the flakes that needs to be put to use! Happy Monday love!
Dang, you do look tough! I need to get me one of those. Maybe it'd keep creepers from talking to me. haha
Congrats on the lifting PR.
thanks Tiff!!
Sounds like a great weekend! I haven't been to an actual movie theater in forever! I get antsy when I know I have to sit there the whole time. Happy Monday!
Hubby and I went to Skyfall this weekend…I thought it was a good movie…but so stressful! Lol – I like happy movies, preferably with singing and dancing. Also watched Harry Potter 2 at home which was way more my style. Lopve your hat – super adorable!
YOU LOOK SO BADASS IN THAT HAT!!! LOVE
So what didn't you like about "Skyfall?" I wanted to go see it for my B-Day…
Also, are you still doing "no" cardio during your training? Thanks for all your motivation!!!
It's been over a year since I've done cardio. So, nope! No cardio!
I haven't seen skyfall, I love going to the movies but sometimes snuggling on your own couch is that much better.
I want that Banana fro yo you made! I saw Skyfall, wasn't a fan either and had 2 movie nights this weekend, we watched Moonrise Kindgom which was good and We bought a Zoo which was surprisingly good and sad!
I haven't heard of Zoo!?
movie night at home!! i like being able to lay down, make my own snacks, and pause when needed
HAHA! TOTALLY! 2.5 hours of 007 – I HAD TO PEE LIKE CRAZY!
Haven't seen Skyfall yet…it's on the list.
I love both movies at home and at the theatres! I love popcorn…period.
Your eats look marvelous
I prefer movie nights at home. But with an active soon to by 3 year old, movie nights are often interrupted for games of hide-n-go seek or an impromtu tea pearty. Therefore, if there is a movie I want to watch from start to finish, I have to see it in the theaters (or wait until her bed time).
The marvelous things in my life right now: having the house decorated from Christmas, a new job, and I'm 2 weeks into training for my first figure competition in March!
Well, I think there's something both about movie nights at home and at the theatre. Movies at the theatre are special because they're presented on the giant screen, the accoustics are completely different than at home and it can be funny to watch other moviegoes
. That said I rarely go to the movies because it's not exactly budget-friendly, haha.
Skyfall actually was the last movie I saw at the theatre with the boy, too. We both liked it more than the other two James Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. Still, I'm not a real Bond fan.
But more often than not I prefer snuggling up at home to watch a movie with my mum, the boy or friends. Where else can you decide on the starting time, snacks and comfy environment? That surely is something the theatre can't provide.
I totally watched Elf, too! It never fails to make me crack up, regardless of how many times I've seen it. Happy Monday love!
For some reason everything you're eating looks so good…and the sashimi! omy…I can't eat that right now but I'm gonna eat sashimi till I drop after a few months.
And your quinoa flake breakfast sounded so good I had chocolate oats this morning! I don't have quinoa flakes anymore, but it still hit the spot. So thank you~!ps: You do look tough with that hat
I saw Skyfall a few weeks ago with my roommates and friends and loved it! I haven't seen many Bond films so can't compare but I loved the back story we got to Bond's character in this one.
I would say going out to the cinema with friends, staying in with boyfriends
I loveee movie nights in! Comfy couch, a crackling fire, homemade tasty snacks, and added perk is having the puppy join :)
P.S. Your quinoa flake creations look tasty! I've never tried them but love quinoa and oats and it kinda looks like a cross between the two?! I'm currently loving walnuts, they taste so rich!
I want to go see Skyfall, but I would so rather see it at home!
I can tell you are getting buff girl! I need to get back into the gym!
Glad you had a marvelous weekend girl!
Salmon and tuna sashimi, oh my love!
Have a great rest of the week! <3
I love my girl! We're such kindred spirits. Staying in is always a good idea to me.
YOu do look tough in that hat! I just saw Skyfall last night– I enjoyed it but nothnig like being curdled up on your own couch
I really liked Skyfall, but I tend to love just about every movie I see. I like movie nights out and at home, but kind of prefer going to the theatre because I'm never tempted to check my phone, email, etc. Once a week Joe and I have a date night where we unplug from technology, but I admit that it's sometimes difficult for me.
As much of a bummer as it is that I have been sick the past few days, it is marvelous that I have an amazing boyfriend to help take care of me and wonderful friends to cheer me up.
I'm pretty sure those are all of my favourite foods, right there! I have never tried quinoa flakes, although I love quinoa! I can't believe I have never looked at your blog before, it's awesome!
Your quinoa oats so so good! Then again, everything on here always sounds amazing;) Have a great week!
