High Five Friday #45

by Meg on December 21, 2012

#45 ;) Five away from the big five oh! How exciting! ;)

Happy High Five Friday everyone! :) I hope you're ready for a celebration today because it's a big one! :)

These are the high fives that were submitted to me this week:
(if you'd like to submit a high five for next week's HFF post please email me at adashofmeg@gmail.com or read here for more information)

Robin – "After a few years of talk, I finally created my own fitness website robinsenne.com! Fitness and nutrition is truly a passion of mine. I'm a fitness enthusiast, ready to guide people on their way to a better life. I have had my ups and downs in fitness/nutrition; I want to help people reach their goal the healthy way."

Jess – "Physically: I've made it to the half-way point of Jamie's Eason's LiveFit Trainer, it's been fun blogging through the process! Mentally/Emotionally: I've stayed strong celebrating the kiwi-way of doing-up the holidays season and have appreciated the differences being here and being in America with my family for Christmas. Rather than comparing everything I've embraced it with humor in my 'Spot The Christmas' post: here."

Lizelle – "Many times I tried..Many times I failed..Many times I fell..But I always tried again…and again. I believed in myself. I did a headstand for the first time in my life. Even though it may look like something simple it was a big accomplishment for me. Be who you want to be..Don't let anything stop you! Healthy Hugs xx"

Linz – "I made it through another semester teacher third grade! While I'm so thankful to teach in the school I'm in and I absolutely love my kiddos, I'm thrilled that itz Winter Break! :) :) "

Meghan – "This week I am giving myself a high five for running the 12ks of Christmas!  I am more of a CrossFit/weight lifting/yoga kinda girl…basically I don't love running.  But I had a really good time and wasn't even too sore afterwards!"

Sara @sara_speaking – "I reached my first fitness goal of getting to sub-20% body fat and am now in the 'athlete' category!"

Julie – "I passed a 6-hour exam that I studied for a year! Now I'm all set to teach in California!"

Elaine – "I would like to give my girlfriend and fitness inspiration, Jennifer a high five! She had an umbilical hernia repair 6 weeks ago and had to completely refrain from lifting per doctors orders. With much support she has survived the hiatus and had her first official comeback gym day TODAY! So here's to Jenn and surviving 6 weeks of down time without hurting anyone!

My high five is that I have learned to embrace….. LEG DAY! I have always dreaded leg day, until yesterday. In an epiphanic moment I realized, I've been looking forward to this! I have even learned to love the DOMS that follow!! So go ME!"

Lex – "I want to give myself a high five this week for making my way through two holiday parties, choosing the right low carb foods– which led to a 5 pound weight loss!! YAY!"

Corey – "I want a double high-five for my bravery this week.

On Tuesday, I had my LisFranc surgery, on my right foot.  It  took 3 hours to complete and a whole lot of metal.  Every day since then has meant a lot of pain and even more tears.  BUT I do not have any fear.  I know, I will run again.  This thing to shall pass and I will get stronger…and run again."

Hannah – "I have finally kicked the habit of calorie counting! I'm on my second week of not counting!  It feels so great and freeing to be able to just eat without having a bunch of numbers in my head:)  I'm thankful I was finally able to just let it go."

Ashley – "My high five is that I got early early acceptance to my number 1 choice of law school – Univ. of Ottawa!"

Lindsay – "My High Five this week is celebrating the end of my job here in Fort Lauderdale and the beginning of my new and exciting job back in Tampa! I'll be moving after Christmas – the best present I could've asked for! :D "

Thank you all for participating! :) If you wrote your own HFF post please link up below, so we can all celebrate with you! :)

I will be giving myself a high five for letting go of perfectionism. Life is about living and enjoying and striving for perfection isn't part of that! So high five for imperfection! :)

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday! I can't believe Christmas is in four days! So, soak up the Christmas spirit this weekend and I'll see you back here on Monday ;)

Happy High Five Friday, friends! Update me throughout the day about your high fives and don't forget to use the hashtag #high5fri! :)

Love,

Meg xo

Major props to you for letting go of perfectionism! That is something I struggle with myself and know firsthand what a challenge it is to let go of but I know we are both 100% capable of doing so! Happy high five Friday!

Aw, yay!  High fives all around!  And go you for trying to let go of being a perfectionist.  Always a struggle for me, but definitely a battle worth fighting!  Life's too short to be focused on "perfect."
