Well, Friday is here!
I am happy to say that I survived the week without getting too stir crazy while all of my friends got back into their work and school routines and I did not.
However, I did meet up with my professor yesterday to learn more about the independent study course I will be taking part in this term!
It’s going to be very exciting as I am very passionate about the community aspect of Foods and Nutrition and there was mention of working on a cookbook, too! How fun!
But, enough about me – it’s High Five Friday and we have a lot to celebrate, so let’s get started! Ready?!
Jess @ Jessness Required – “I’ve started a few challenge’s for this month, one being the Fit for The Year January Challenge hosted by The Starving Artist. I’m stoked to challenge myself and hoping to inspire and motivate others all the way through it through my blog posts. 2013 let’s do this!”

Sloane – “I created my own special meditation space at home, and I started the Baron Baptiste 40 Day Challenge! The challenge requires a morning and evening meditation every day, and yoga 6 days per week for 6 weeks. I’m so excited to see what transformations happen, and what comes up for me. Its going to take a lot of discipline, but I know that only good will come from cultivating this practice.”
Liv – “I would like to give myself a high five for becoming a Sweat Pink Ambassador! I couldn’t be more excited to #sweatpink with some of my favorite ladies.
”
Meghan – “We took 3rd place in our CrossFit competition on Saturday!!!”
Kat – “So on Tuesday this week I wrote a post about a little breakdown that I had. Basically, I just haven’t been listening to my body and what it needs, and after getting my 3rd injury in under 2 weeks, something just clicked. I have come to the realization that I just can’t do this anymore. That being said, there’s no way I am giving up workouts, but I am now rededicating myself to really taking care of my body through proper rest, stretching, foam rolling and icing. And if that means that I have to tone down the workouts for a little bit than so be it, but I refuse to run myself into the ground anymore! It’s not like I am gaining ANYTHING from it but pain and misery.”
Anjali – “My entry this week is celebrating the fact that I re-launched my blog! I took a hiatus in October when graduate school was at an all time stress level. However, with lots of reflection I have decided that I want to re-start my blog. It is called Revival of the Fitness and my purpose is to share my journey in striving to keep healthy living fun, adventurous, and exciting all while maintaining a healthy balance (nothing wrong with chocolate & wine..right?!). My website is www.revivalofthefitness.com”
Sarah – “I just began my final nursing placement this week in the intensive care unit which will be such an amazing learning opportunity for my future career!”
Jodye – “I’d like to high five myself for finally reaching ten posts on my new blog, Chocolate and Chou Fleur!”
Molly – “This week, I wanted to give myself a High Five because it’ll have been 18 days since I followed my heart and finally attended Church. I have been going regularly (each Sunday) by myself and recently joined the choir. I am had the honour of going to Starbucks with the Minister. Through I have never been religious, I finally feel a mend in my heart, where there used to be an empty hole. As well, this year, on January 1st, I made the decision to go vegetarian for personal reasons. I have never felt so alive in my life. Though this is not for everyone, it has definitely helped me feel clean and revitalized. I have really enjoyed making new recipes such as Chickpea Burgers, White Bean Soup and Tempeh or Tofu Stirfrys.”
Lindsay – “Today’s High Five is for focusing more on myself this year. This year I resolved to be more open and adventurous, to take more chances and to accomplish more personally and professionally. This high five is for finding happiness again!”
Katie – “For starting my own healthy living blog after only being a hopeful reader for over three years; crazy, I know.”
Sarah – “I got out of a 5 week hospital stay this week!”
Thank you for your submissions, girls!
If you’d like to be featured in next week’s HFF please read how to submit your high five here. I accept posts until Thursday evening!
