I’m so excited about today’s post! It’s from a friend of mine, Devan, who has created an incredible non-profit organization that I want all of you to hear more about!
Take it away, girl!
Hello readers!
Wow… It has been a very long time since I have done a blog post.
If any of you remember me, I am Devan, who used to blog at Watermelon Tequila. A lot has changed since my blogging days. I used to post about food, recovery, being tube fed over and over, hospitalization. Blogging fed me. My body was so depleted of nutrients that I looked to blogs to feed my cravings. I was obsessed. I took a very long hiatus from blogging as I had ended up back in the hospital. I was also dealing with bad relationships & abusing substances. The break was much needed. I have grown into much stronger, independent woman! I defiantly still struggle, wanting to look a certain way, and how much to eat, when to eat, etc. But it is a road that I must take head on, and know I will make it out in the end. I have great support from family and friends, and I still continue read many of your fabulous blogs! You are all so dang inspiring!!!
One of my best friends, whom I met through modelling, had a brilliant idea to start a non-profit organization to spread awareness on Eating Disorders, and the way social media and tabloids can distort our own thoughts on body image. We brain stormed together for months, brought together a ton of local Makeup Artists, models, & photographers, and brought our idea to life. It was an amazing process!
This was our second year out EveryBody is Beautiful campaign (http://www.indiegogo.com/everybodyisbeautiful), and we were hugely successful. We printed a ton of calendars and posters, and were able to make generous donation to Project True!
Any inquiry’s you have on Everybody is Beautiful , please email everybodyisbeautiful@shaw.ca
I hope you enjoyed today’s guest post!
Thank you, Devan, for sharing this with us!
Tomorrow I will be back with a recap of this week’s workouts! See you then!
