01/21: MIMM

by Meg on January 21, 2013

Usually weekends fly by when I’m busy and on the go, but this one managed to escape from me just as fast despite the fact that I spent most of it inside my apartment.

Last weekends warm temperatures of plus 12 degrees C disappeared and this weekend we were handed those awful icy winds. You know, those winds that go right through you and leave you feeling chilled to the bone for hours. Not fun. Not fun at all, but I did manage to make the best of it.

All the time spent inside definitely was no where near being dull. In fact, it was the complete opposite of dull. It was marvelous! ;)

Today’s Marvelous in my Monday post will fill you in on all of the adventures I had inside my cozy apartment this weekend while the weather outside was icy cold!

First and foremost, on days spent inside it is essential to have a good movie on.

This weekend my boyfriend and I managed to get through the first three seasons of Nurse Jackie. He recently introduced this TV series to me and we are both hooked! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something new to watch!

When we weren’t watching Nurse Jackie, we were baking. We baked a banana bread using spelt flour instead of whole wheat flour and coconut palm sugar instead of real sugar. It turned out great!

My weekend was simple like this meal of pan fried sweet potato, chicken breast, and broccoli, but sometimes simple is best :)

I’m keeping it pretty simple today, too.

I started my morning off with my favourite breakfast.

And now I plan to spend the rest of my day cleaning my apartment and getting groceries. I won’t be going to the gym today as my trainer couldn’t meet with me until tomorrow, so today is another rest growth day for me and I will be training on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday this week. I’m totally fine with taking today as another rest day, though. My legs are still feeling like they’ve been trampled by a herd of wild animals from Saturday’s heavy leg day.

Maybe a warm shower would do me good…

Have a great day my loves!

I LOVE Nurse Jackie!! I do think the first seasons are better, but Jonny and I both still love the show!! I’m working out today – haven’t decided what exactly so I’m going to take a look at your workouts for inspiration :) :)

I was thinking of starting that series, but I haven’t been able to get the hubby convinced. Maybe I’ll just throw it on our Netflix list anyway. ;)

Nice and restful weekend here! I did run 7ish miles, but I spent the remainder of the time relaxing. Today is a cross training day in the gym.

I made banana bread too this weekend, but mine was a little less virtuous than yours! Your dinner looks great – I totally agree, sometimes the simple things are the best things.
I’m not working out today, but I just had an hour long walk in the snow and managed to cover 5km, and now my body is aching from trying to trudge through it!

I’m taking my Monday weight lifting class tonight! I honestly have been debating the cardio afterward…I feel like if I really truly want to do it then I will but I will know going into the class whether or not I’m gonna be feeling it. What I am gonna focus on is the lifting. I want to keep that bicep weight up that I got to last week! I can’t wait to lift!
That banana bread looks sooo good. My dad loves Nurse Jackie! So glad your weekend relaxed you!

I LOVE Nurse Jackie!! I watched both seasons about a year ago. And it is too addicting! It’s one of my favorite shows, I miss it now. Um that banana bread looks amazing, I think I need to make a loaf asap! I took a growth weekend;) Since I wasn’t feeling the best.

Today was a growth day for me, strength-training wise, but I was sure busy! Running errands, working, doing school work and class projects, and taking my dog for a long walk have really worn me out.
My weekend was pretty restful, but eventful; my 18th birthday was yesterday! Exciting (and scary) stuff!

Meg January 21, 2013 at 10:46 PM

Definitely sounds like a busy day, love! A great one, though :) and 18!? Happy belated <3
