There’s a New Oolong in Town

I really wish I was a DAVIDsTEA spokesperson! Now that would be a job for me! ;)

Now that spring is in the air, there’s new teas to try, too!

Every season DAVIDsTEA launches a new line of teas. This month they launched their new spring collection and it’s amazing! The new spring collection includes the following teas:

- Coconut Oolong

- Copabanana

- Daydreamer

- Pom Tango

- Honeydew Mate

Obviously I bought the entire collection when it hit stores. How could I not? That wouldn’t be very Meg of me would it? ;)

All of the teas included within this collection are to die for and that says a lot because fruit teas aren’t always my favourite; however, these all blew me away.

Copabanana is a tea brought back from two years ago and I loved it back then and Daydreamer is a tea from last year – and it just so happens that it was my favourite tea from last year’s spring collection!? – thus, this collection is one of their best!

Today I’ll be reviewing the Coconut Oolong as it is my favourite of the entire collection, but I plan to write a review for all five teas in future posts.

As I said, this tea is my personal favourite from the 2013 Spring Collection. I knew I’d love it since I’m a fan of coconut and all other oolong teas, but I didn’t know it’d be this amazing.

This tea blend features:

- Pao Zhong oolong tea

- Coconut flakes

- Artificial coconut flavour

Simple! Just the way I like it :)

The smell of this tea is so comforting. A strong creamy coconut scent from when you open the package to the time it’s done steeping.

I’ve been drinking this tea from the time I wake up all the way through to mid afternoon. The caffeine content is considered to be a “medium” on the caffeine scale, so even if I drink it in the evening I’m still able to sleep.

In order to taste the coconut best (and not too much of the leaves), I have been steeping my leaves for about 3 minutes. I wouldn’t allow this tea to steep any longer than 5 minutes, though, or else it may get a little bitter and the coconut flavour will be overpowered by the oolong.

I highly recommend this tea as a latte! It enhances the creaminess and makes this tea truly to die for!

I’m hooked on the Coconut Oolong tea, so I hope you give it a try if you have the chance! You definitely won’t be disappointed if you’re a coconut lover like myself!

Have you tried DAVIDsTEA’s new spring collection yet? If so, what was your favourite tea?

Do you think you’d like this tea?

Are you a coconut lover? What is your favourite coconut product? How do you like to use it?

See ya later!

No way!!! Okay, I went to David’s Tea on Thursday, and guess who just bought coconut oolong?! Clearly me, if you didn’t get my introduction? ;)
It’s amazing! One of my favorite teas to date! The flavor is incredible, I also picked up banana oolong, which is equally as good! But, coconut does have my heart always!

Isnt this tea incredible!?
Have a hot bath in it, and add a tablespoon of coconut oil!

Or make a rice dish using this tea !

Also a big fan of this Oolong. It’s the perfect mid-day pick-me-up, and it just smells so divine :) Will have to try it as a tea latte, too (good idea)

Hey Meg, this collection sounds so yummy! Seriously thinking about ordering it. But I’m new to David’s tea…approximately how many servings are in the 25 g portions of each flavor?
Thanks!

Mm that coconut oolong sounds devine. Any chance you know if these teas are available in Australia?

I love coconut flakes which I’ve only just gotten into, coconut water and shredded coconut. I’ve only just started using coconut oil to cook with.

I’m crying right now because I don’t have a David’s tea near me. I need to move to Canada or something, so I can fulfill my daily addiction to it. Luckily I ended up buying a lot when I was in Vancouver and in NYC, but I want the coconut oolong! I’m so jealous. I know I can order online, but I like getting mine in 25 g segments, which you can’t do online :( .
