03/14: Thankful Thursday & The “Little Things” that Make a Big Difference

by Meg on March 14, 2013

Well, today has definitely been a productive one! I’ve been at Starbucks nearly all day and have finally finished my nutrition paper which is due tomorrow!

Now I can say hello to a relaxing evening ;) How wonderful.

Even though I’ve been staring at the computer screen all day, it just wouldn’t be Thursday without my Thankful Thursday post, so let’s begin :)

Friday, March 8 – On Friday I was thankful for my parents treating my boyfriend and I out for dinner. It was my boyfriend’s birthday, so they told us to go out for a nice dinner! We chose to go to The Keg :)

Saturday, March 9 – On Saturday I was thankful for this amazing message my old babysitter left of my Mom’s Facebook page

Sunday, March 10 – On Sunday I was thankful for my boyfriend really enjoying the dinner I made for him! Even though it wasn’t my own recipe, I was very happy to know I could make his tummy and taste buds happy :)

Monday, March 11 – On Monday I was thankful for the rain! Some times I just love dreary days! The smell of rain is amazing, too!

Tuesday, March 12 – On Tuesday I was thankful for all of the help my Dad gave me with my car. I was having car troubles and needed to get it repaired and he was so much help! He was calling the dealership and made sure I’d have a rental car to drive for the week! He’s the best Dad ever :)

Wednesday, March 13 – On Wednesday I was thankful for the very pleasant cashier I had at Walmart. She said my last name, Doll, suited me so well. She was such a gem and I totally needed her positivity in my life!

Thursday, March 14 – Today I am thankful for all of the positive vibes and encouragement I’m receiving from this post. It’s tough to realize and share that you have “work to do on yourself”, but it’s so worth it and thank you for all of your love <3

Before I close this post, I just wanted to touch on something in a little more depth – that sweet woman I had as a cashier at Walmart on Wednesday…

Just before I went to Walmart and had a pleasant visit with this lady, I was talking to one of my best friends about how a little random act of kindness goes such a long way.

We were talking about how it’s not worth being negative or rude to anyone. Personally, I always treat people like they’re having the worst day ever. You honestly never know. One rude action can really send someone for a loop and wreck their day and I would never want to do that! So, I always try to be positive and a ray of sunshine in everyone’s life.

Being positive only brings light into yours and other people’s lives, so leave this post with a smile and know that little acts of positivity can make a difference in the next person you pass’ life.

Stay positive and I’ll see you tomorrow with High Five Friday! If you haven’t submitted a high five to me yet please do so now! :) For more information on what to provide me with in your email read the HFF page :)

Thank you!

Love,

Meg xo

What are you thankful for this week?

Do you like rain?

When was the last time you smiled at a stranger?

As I was reading this post and first read about the cashier, I knew I was going to comment on this entry (which I rarely do!) but then as I continued to read, you went into even more depth about it! Just so you know, you had peaked my interest before you even fully delved into it! So you pretty much said what I was going to comment, when I read on haha! But in addition to what I was going to say, thank YOU for noticing those little random acts of kindness and actually appreciating them for all they’re worth. It’s so nice to see and hear other people taking notice of the little happy things in life – definitely something we can all make sure to do :)

Thanks for giving me something to read and think about daily!

I am thankful for my mom helping me make some changes in my lifestyle. She didn’t put any pressure on my to do anything, but I could feel all the love she was sending my way.

That said, my HFF for this week is being able to adjust my daily routine to a better schedule. I finally did not force myself to get my workout done before work. I realized this was not suitable long term. I had to be willing to change what was becoming a comfortable pattern, to something more manageable. Woot woot! One day strong!

I’m thankful for my bf being there for me in a really tough work week. I’m thankful for the great weather we have been having here in Australia and I’m especially thankful that today is Friday :)

I agree that random acts of kindness and being positive to people goes a long way.

These are great things to be thankful for! I love it when people are kind to strangers.. :) And I am a firm believe that it takes more energy to be rude and unkind than it does to just love people. It isn’t always easy, but it’s worth it!
