High Five Friday #57

by Meg on March 15, 2013

Good morning, my loves! :)

Is everyone ready for a big High Five Friday celebration!? I know I am…

highfivefriday

The following are high fives that were submitted to me via email this week. If you’d like to be featured in next week’s post please read here and send me an email to adashofmeg.com :)

Clara – “For getting a first on my dissertation!! :) Yay my first High Five Friday!!!! :)

Haley – “I did 30 double-unders in a row”

Lucie – “I realize that I am overtraining and that I am deep in the addiction of exercising. I set my goal to decrease my workouts and planned a week in April when I will recover and won’t do any exercise for 7 days. This is a huge challenge for me but I am thankful that I got this insight and that I have this goal set.”

Emily – “I want to give myself a high-five this week for learning to truly love my body. Over the past 6 months I’ve gained weight, gotten stronger, and finally started getting my boobs & booty back! I still have a ways to go but I’m happier, healthier, and more confident than I’ve been in years and that’s all that matters. <3″

Kat – “After 2 days of eating not so great food on vacation and spending no time working out, I thought for sure that I was going to be disappointed in what I saw and how I felt when I worked out Monday. I had decided to just have a good time on vacation and not be so uptight about my diet and working out, because I really just wanted a stress free few days. Well, when I looked in the mirror Monday after my workout my jaw literally dropped. Not only did I see that my muscles hadn’t turned to flab, but my abs were peeking through! My workout was also beyond awesome. My body felt recharged and my mind was in the right place. Take rest days people!”

Colleen – “My high five is that I got through a really rough week emotionally. I had a stressful week at work, my first Graduate School midterm exam, and I found out some sad news about a friend who passed away in Afghanistan while on active military duty. Needless to say, it has been a tough and exhausting few days. However, I am moving forward, and I think I actually aced my exam! Woohoo!”

Heather – “My high five this week is all about stepping out of my comfort zone and going across the country! I have been taking care of my three cousins all week. That deserves a high five because I don’t have any children or major responsibilities at home, but have had to take care of 3 children all week! They have been so great and weve had the best time, so it is totally worth it.  I also went running on my own and checked out the scenic routes to see more of the town. I have done quite well being so far away from home this week,  but I can’t wait to get home and be back to east coast time! :)

Cassie – “I’d like to give myself a high five for taking last week off from the gym for the first time in months, and also for getting back in there refreshed (and now very sore!).  It was exactly what I needed, and gave me time to focus on activities like walking, dance, and yoga, instead of heavy weights.  Now I’m hoping to incorporate more of these activities to create a more balanced and well rounded way of moving my body.  So far, so good!”

Melissa – “I want to give myself a High 5 because I finally stood up for myself and got a raise! I don’t like to speak up for myself, which isn’t good, but finally I did, and it paid off (literally!). I’m very proud of myself!”

Lindsay – “High Fives, friends!! I had such a great week at work, I took on big challenges and have been working my butt off. I love my job more and more each day, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings. I also want to high five having some better runs this week. They’re not great, but it may be a turning point!”

Becki – “I didn’t finish the detox this week (actually finished it at the beginning of March and just posted the results), so I don’t feel like it’s quite fair to use my results for my high five, but it was a HUGE deal for me to post the photos online for everyone to see, so that’s what I’m submitting for this week.”

Meg – “My high five this week is that I was asked to be on Athleta’s team and as one of their models for Fitness & More Magazines’ Women’s Half Marathon! I am so flattered and so excited. The race is on April 14th and I’ll be posting all about it. High fives to all! Xoxo”

Mary – “I skated in the Pacific Coast Adult Sectional Championships last weekend and placed fifth of eleven in my group of 41 to 50 year old skaters. It’s the most technical program I’ve ever had and the biggest competition I’ve ever skated in. I’m happy with my skate and pleased that I was able to have the experience of being there!”

Congrats to all on amazing high fives!

We did 2 new hybrid workouts this week and it’s been much needed because our routine has gotten stale. I burned 800 calories in about 40 minutes on the rower hybrid. WOOT!

ANOTHER week with a High Five for me?!?! Thanks love. :)

The eggs were so darn delicious, too. After my disastrous tummy troubles at the beginning of the week, I thought my new eggs-periment would be over before it began, but I tried one last night for dinner…and so far, so good…
