Well, I couldn’t be more excited for today!
First of all, it’s High Five Friday!
But it’s also the first day of the GPP Intensive Training today, too! I’m so excited for that to begin, but I’m also excited for Bobbi to finally arrive today, have a lunch date with Janetha, Bobbi, and Maria, do this workout, and spend some time shopping at the mall with the girls, too! A busy day, but it will be a good one!
Let’s continue the good and start up today’s HFF celebration!
The following high fives were submitted to me via email. If you’d like to be featured in next week’s HFF post please email me at email@example.com (Remember, it’s never too early to email me your high five nor is any success too small to celebrate! So, be proud of even the smallest accomplishments you make and let me know about them so we can celebrate them next week!)
Jan – “My high five friday for this week is that I’m about to start a new 6 week strength training program and that after 1 year of doing the same program I am finally making a change and moving more towards a program with higher weight and lower reps. I am nervous but also excited to make the change.”
Liv – “I would like to high five myself for starting Crossfit this week! I was a little nervous but dove right in and haven’t looked back. I love it! I’m glad I got out of my comfort zone and now I’m having the best time! Yeah!”
Alex – “I’m giving myself a high 5 for completing a presentation for my summer research project! This has lead me to do a full year research project, which I never imagined myself doing ”
Lucie – “After more than 10 years of being on and off dangerous diet pills like appetite supressers, diuretics, metabolic boosters and especially laxatives I am finally CLEAN. The laxatives were the most difficult part and 7 weeks ago I threw them in the trash and did not touch them anymore. I feel 1000x better, my body is full of energy and my skin is tight and glowing. But most importantly I was and am strong enough to drop them and get clean.” (You can read more about Lucie’s story here)
Sarah – “This week was cool because as part of work, I got to go see Tony Robbins speak!! It was only for a few hours but he definitely knew how to get my mind working and helping me really figure out and address some things I’ve been thinking about recently!! He’s always so inspiring and life changing <3″
Miss Polkadot – “This week I’m giving myself a High Five for tackling a fear food: pasta. Actually, I went on a lunch date with a friend last Friday already and it made me realize such a lot that I dedicated a whole post to my lessons learned while eating pasta. It was a lot more than just a bowl of food.”
Sara – “I’m giving myself a high five for doing something out of character. I was recently invited to backpack in europe for a month with 2 friends. I normally overthink things and worry about every minor detail of EVERYTHING. Well I threw caution to the wind, gave notice to my job (where I’ve been quite unhappy), and booked my ticket! I’m giving myself permission to be young and dumb for once because this opportunity may not come again. I’m having faith everything will work out for the best.”
Lindsay – “These last few day I got to really take on more responsibility at work on our tv shoot. I felt more comfortable than ever voicing my opinion and using the skills I’ve learned at this job. I love it more and more every day. Plus, I got to run really early in the dark because we had to be on set so early. Those are my favorite!”
Candice – “I’m giving myself a high five for running my first long run since my IT band injury”
Thanks for the high five submissions! I really appreciate it and light up every time one of you emails me your achievements! I absolutely love hearing you be proud of your accomplishments!
The rest of the high fives are “surprise high fives” which are the successes and achievements I’ve taken note of this past week:
Tara set a new PR for deadlifts
Bee is now a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Emily completed the Color Run
Christa created a new recipe, Jicama “rice”
Emily and her mom ran a race together
Molly completed the 5 minute plank challenge
I will be giving myself a high five for using the 15 inch box to do box jumps during yesterday’s GPP WOD. At first, the 15 inch wooden box looked really intimidating and the pointy corners looked scary because I’m used to doing box jumps onto aerobic steps with four risers, but I pushed passed my fears and did the box jumps on the wooden box. I felt great and so proud of myself! And I didn’t even scratch my shins! Next goal – a higher step!
That will be another high five for another day though
What are you giving yourself a high five for this week?
