Happy October 1st, lovelies, and welcome to Tea Tuesday!
I’m always excited to review a new tea of the week for you, but today I’m even more excited than usual. Since it is October 1st, DAVIDsTEA, has launched their new tea of the month, Currant Affair.
I didn’t think I would be able to try this tea until later on today, but I had a surprise package in the mail waiting for me yesterday…
That’s right! DAVIDsTEA surprised me with their new tea of the month, so I could write a review for you on the exact launch date! Thank you DAVIDsTEA! I am such a lucky girl!
The new tea of the month, Currant Affair, is a rooibos tea, so it is caffeine free, which makes it absolutely perfect for your go to night time tea! Which is exactly how I enjoyed it last night
The ingredients of Currant Affair include: rooibos tea, sweet blackberry leaves, blackcurrant, and artificial black currant and cream flavouring.
The smell of this tea blend is quite medicinal to be honest, but don’t let that turn you off because it tastes great!
I find most berry teas to be quite bitter, but after allowing this tea to steep for 4 – 5 minutes, I had the perfect tea to comfort me during a cozy evening spent at home last night.
This tea is not too sweet, but it’s not tart at all. The blackberry leaves definitely add a nice sweet touch to this tea and I think the cream flavouring mellows it out, as well.
In my opinion, this tea is the perfect tea for October. As the nights start getting chillier and chillier all I want is a nice cup of warm tea that soothes me and this tea definitely does that!
I allowed my tea to cool, as well, so I could test out an iced version, too! The iced version was just as good, so this tea would also be amazing in the summer. So, I suggest stocking up and having a hot cup of Currant Affair in the autumn and winter months and an iced version in the spring and summer I know I will be!
If this tea sounds good to you, you can order it here or check out your local DAVIDsTEA location as it is the tea of the day there today!
Have you tried a black currant tea before? Will you be going to DAVIDsTEA today to try the new Currant Affair tea!?
