Tea Tuesday: DAVIDsTEA’s Summer 2014 Collection

by Meg on May 13, 2014

Before I get started with today’s post I wanted to thank you all for the sweet comments on yesterday’s post! Thank you so much! <3

I haven’t wrote a Tea Tuesday post in a while and thought I better do so this week since DAVIDsTEA released their 2014 Summer Collection last week!

I’ve tried them all, love them all, but definitely have my favourites! So, here are my personal opinions and reviews of the five teas released for this summer!

Just Peachy was the first time of the five I tried. Since I wasn’t the biggest fan of their last peach tea, Peaches and Cream, I didn’t know how I was going to like this one, but I loved it! It’s an herbal tea bursting with flavours of fresh peach! I love juicy summer peaches and this tea is fabulous, especially when iced!

Sangria was the second tea of the five I chose to try. I chose to try this tea because I liked the ingredients and it smelled very promising. Sangria contains flavours from oranges, strawberries, raspberries, hibiscus, blackberry leaves, and liquorice root! All of the flavours pair so nicely together and create my personal favourite tea of the five released this summer! I will admit, I am addicted to the Sangria tea! I make at least one trip to DAVIDsTEA each and every day just for this tea. I also prefer this tea most when iced!

Shooting Starfruit is probably my third favourite of the five summer teas! After smelling it I didn’t know if I’d like it or not, it kind of smells like Christmas trees, but don’t let that turn you off because it tastes like apples! This tea contains apples, mango, starfruit, and jackfruit, and is a nice blend of all of those tropical, summer-y fruits, but apple is the flavour I noticed most; however, you can pick out notes of the other fruits within this tea, as well, so it’s different from any other apple-y tea I’ve ever tried before! Extremely refreshing!

Watermelon Mint is a really interesting tea! If you love mint teas, I believe that this could be your favourite tea of this summer! When enjoyed as a hot tea, it is quite watermelon-y, but has a nice fresh minty finish for all of the mint lovers out there! However, when enjoyed iced, it’s hard to detect any mint at all! When iced, this tea has refreshing flavours of watermelon and honeydew! I really enjoy this tea iced! I was told this tea is a staff favourite at the London location!

Mango Fruit Punch is just as delicious as it sounds! It’s bursting with sweetness from mango, but also tastes fruit punch-y from the other fruits within the blend such as orange, tangerine, and strawberries! This makes a perfect iced tea and I guarantee that even non tea lovers would love this tea!

As you can see, each of the five teas released for the summer of 2014 are unique and extremely delicious; however, if I had to pick a favourite I’d say Sangria is my favourite of them all!

Have you tried the Summer Collection from DAVIDsTEA yet? What tea are you enjoying for summer?

They all sound like amazing teas! I however am a big fan of Sangria so that’s the one that I want to try the most, especially iced :) I can’t remember if you said if they ship to Australia or not? I must look it up and check.

I love your tea reviews! I went just yesterday for Nurse Appreciation Day (free tea ;)) and HAD to go for the Shooting Starfruit. After smelling the rest of the new collection I had to get bags of Just Peachy, Sangria AND Mango Fruit Punch! I LOVE their new summer collection!

I was so disappointed with the sound of all the teas in DavidsTea summer collection that I haven’t even tried any. I don’t like fruit teas and they are all heavily fruity!! I do like hibiscus so maybe I will try the sangria tea.

How do you feel about the ingredients of soy and milk in many of the davidstea?

Reply

Meg May 18, 2014 at 11:20 AM

i say if you like those teas, drink them! but it’s not really “tea” so I usually opt for more natural ones :)

Why oh why is the nearest Davids three hours away?! Waahh. We have a Teavana here and I love getting the pineapple with coconut, they just scream summer. The only problem is it’s in the middle of the mall and seriously, who wants to park and go to the mall just to get some tea?? (lazy much? lol) But me thinks a David’s order is in my near future ;)
And now. I want some tea!

Meg May 18, 2014 at 11:21 AM

HAHA i go to the mall just for a tea ;) and it is a 20 minute drive from where i live ;)

I tweeted how I went to David’s in Boston and now I’m SO sad there isn’t one in Baltimore. At least I bought some tea when I was up there-I’m drinking their coconut oolong right now!
