Tea Tuesday: Hot Tropic

by Meg on June 3, 2014

So, if you didn’t already know…

June is my favourite month! :)

It’s my birthday month and the weather is usually always so perfect! It’s just always been my favourite, but yesterday I found out a reason to love June even more…

June is National Iced Tea Month!? What!? Oh June, you’re so perfect.

I didn’t learn this tidbit of information until yesterday evening, but, luckily, I’ve had iced tea every day in June so far and I plan to continue to the streak for the whole month. However… that won’t be too hard for me. Especially now that DAVIDsTEA launched a new tea of the month for June and it is indescribably amazing!

I first tried this tea without knowing any of the ingredients.

The scent of the tea screams pina colada, but I didn’t get my hopes up about the taste. Sometimes teas don’t taste as amazing as they smell, but…

Hot Tropic is not like those disappointing teas. Hot Tropic tastes exactly like a pina colada. I’m sure that if I was blind folded I would have thought someone put pineapple juice in my cup!

Surprisingly, there is no pineapple in the ingredient list at all, though!

The ingredients of Hot Tropic include:

- Apple

- Mango

- Raisins

- Cinnamon

- Coconut chips

- Start anise

- Vanilla

- Natural flavouring

Honestly, I was shocked there was no pineapple in the ingredient list just because this tea tastes so much like pineapple juice; however, I could detect the flavour from the coconut chips, which made this tea very much like a refreshing pina colada enjoyed frequently in the summer months.

I have only tried this tea iced, but I am sure it would be good hot, too. Although, why would you want a hot tea when June is National Iced Tea Month, right!? ;)

This is an herbal tea, so feel free to steep this tea as long as you want. The flavours will only get stronger the longer it steeps. It is not likely this tea will become bitter with very long steeps!

This tea is also caffeine free, so you can drink it all day as I am sure you will since it is that delicious! :D

Do you like pineapple or pina colada flavours? Would you like this tea? Have you tried this tea yet?

All Tea Tuesday posts are my opinion only! I do not receive any compensation.

Love always,

Meg xo

Well I must be ahead of the game because I’ve been celebrating Iced Tea Month since mid-May. ;) Love pina colada/pineapple flavors, so this sounds right up my alley!

LOVE all things tropical. Pineapple, mango, coconut… I’ve got summer fever. I am most definitely a fruity tea person. I started a serious iced tea addiction going in Florida. I had an acai blueberry pomegranate tea and mixed it with lemon raspberry Natural Calm. OH MAH WORD. Sensory overload deliciousness. Must. Have. Tea.
