High Five Friday #121
Happy birthday to me…
Happy birthday to me…
Thanks to all of you who have already wished me a happy birthday, you’re the best! It’s truly amazing the wonderful relationships that can develop through blogging. So, thank you for making my day extra special!
But, I don’t only want to celebrate my birthday today! I want to celebrate ALL OF YOU TOO! 😀 So, let’s get this High Five Friday party started (PS I think this is one of the biggest HFF’s yet! So that’s the perfect birthday present for me! Thank you!)
The following high fives were submitted to me via email. If you’d like to appear in next week’s HFF post please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org I’d love for you to join in 😀
Kristen – I’m giving myself a high five this week for really slowing my life down! I’m such a “go, go, go” person and realized that I wasn’t enjoying the moments that really matter. Summer is my absolute favorite time of year, so I’ve been taking more time off and spending lots of time at the beach! I’ve been I’m finding I’m actually much more productive when I’m relaxed and well rested!
Amanda – After a week or two of being too much of a perfectionist (and I think also being a little scared) I finally wrote and published my first post on my new blog Brains, Books and Brawn! I know I still have a long way to go before I reach Meg status but I’m really happy to have the first post out of my system 🙂
Wanting to start up this blog and share some cool stuff with the world has also gotten me back into my old bookworm ways! I’ve started reading all my neglected books and applying for review copies and I’m the happiest I’ve been in a while now that it’s a part of my routine again!
Ellen – I’d like to high five myself for completing a 10km run in 49.33. I started a training plan 8 weeks ago to work on speed but I was hoping to break 55min, I still can’t believe I smashed my goal. I’ve never considered myself a runner (up until this year I hated it :p) but I’ve already got a training plan for a half marathon 😀
Katie – Sometimes we all need a little retail therapy. I don’t recommend this kind of therapy on a regular basis because if you’re like me, your bank account will probably start yelling at you BUT there is a time and place for it and last weekend it was exactly what I needed. Today I’m giving myself a high five for taking myself shopping and doing something for ME! But MORE important, can we give a million high fives to our home girl, Meg? It’s her birthday and she’s absolutely AMAZING!
Deana – Over the past few weeks I’ve been reflecting on my life this thus and really realizing how truly lucky I am to be here. This is why. It’s really changed who I am and how I see my life. I’m so much happier and all around just so excited- just be alive. It’s wild!
Megan – I want to high five the heck out of myself for killing a really difficult workout on Tuesday. You know, the one where you end up laying on the floor in a pool of sweat because you gave it your all? And to my trainer for believing I could and showing me how far I’ve come. I wanted to quit multiple times but made it through, working so hard for the few rest breaks I got.
Lindsay – I’ve been trying to cook more fun and different meals lately, and last night’s was a BIG win. I made Bell Pepper Pizzas inspired by Jenn from Peas and Crayons. They were so delicious and I only required four ingredients. Yay 🙂 Happy Friday!
This week I will be giving myself a high five for really working on positive self talk and body peace. Now that school is coming to an end, I’m finding myself becoming quite stressed just because everything is getting really busy. And when I’m stressed, it seems that my positive body image tends to suffer, but I’ve been staying strong all week and doing a lot of positive self talk. These reminders have been helping me a lot.
What are you giving yourself a high five for today?
